Who knew contemporary dance could be this techno savvy and cool? Most of the gyrations you see today are basically throwbacks to bad-80s-what-a-feeling-not-so-footloose-Cassie-fame-wannabes. If only the choreographer from The Simpsons was around to smack down the contestants on So You Think You Can Dance: “I said ‘Step pause turn pause pivot step step’ not ‘Step pause turn pause pivot step pause’!”

Saw The Help. I know, I’m surprised too. So sue me. I was in the mood for a chick-flick with a social conscience and Heathers and Platoon were out. It was another fine effort from the “By The Numbers” production team. But it was seriously miscast. I mean, where the hell was Lucy and Flip Wilson? At least there was that love scene between Lafayette and Ryan Gosling - I WISH.
