Yes The Skin I Live In is silly. Yes it’s completely unbelievable. Yes the more you think about it the more the plot/narrative/characters unravel. But it’s a hyper-melodrama from the master of cinematic soap operas. And it features breathtaking Buika. Out with common-sense; in with visual ecstasy.
The only reason I went to see the movie, Drive, other than seeing Ryan Gosling, and other than seeing Ryan Gosling, and other than seeing Ryan Gosling, was to see the reference to Kenneth Anger’s experimental masterpiece, Scorpio Rising.
